Spotlight: Barry Kronen
Barry Kronen began his highly successful jewelry design business out of his very own garage over 20 years ago, where he crafted silver jewelry. Kronen soon moved from the garage and now has his own manufacturing faculty in South Florida where all of his handcrafted jewelry is exquisitely produced with the utmost attention to detail.
His preferred metal has changed from silver to yellow and white gold and Kronen is now considered a creator of cutting edge jewelry designs with a reputation for high quality pieces. Kronen keeps his family involved, with his wife Michele helping to oversee the business and his daughter Stephanie often seen in Barry Kronen Design advertisements.
He finds inspiration for his designs from art and nature, and credits his wife for being his biggest fashion influence. Kronen categorizes his jewelry as utterly feminine, “of the moment,” and retro with pieces that are known to be “modern meets vintage,” with carefully crafted, antique-inspired designs. And, with names like “Rock Candy,” “Locket,” “Diamond Rocks,” “Blanc Noir,” “LeCage,” “Babylicious,” “Vintage Sapphire,” “Bridal,” “Monogram,” “Mélange,” and “Nouveau Lace,” you can easily imagine the diversity among his collections.
“I love designing new and different looks, so I am always changing and creating new styles for customers,” Kronen says. With his eclectic portfolio, he is said to have “a finger on the pulse of what will be the next big trend,” and that has become a trademark of his jewelry. Jennifer Lopez and Jaime Pressly are just a few celebrities known to wear his elegant designs on the red carpet.
