Celebrating Summer Fashion
Summer is officially here, and that means warm days at the beach, and nights spent sipping mojitos on the patio. As if that weren’t enough excitement, July also means summer fashion. And designers all seem to agree on one thing: regardless of the current economic status, it’s time for clothes to be bright and happy. It’s time to replace foreclosure with fuchsia.
Vivid colors are flooding the runways, the malls and all your favorite department stores. Ladies, let’s be brave and taste the rainbow. There might be plenty to stress about right now, but that doesn’t mean our fashions should have to suffer.
Floral prints are paying a visit this June, and the colors are more vibrant than before. If the thought of a hibiscus red floral print intimidates you, you can always choose a more neutral print – but the important thing is to embrace a little more color during these warm months. Colors are making a bold statement this summer and even if you only add a little color to that outfit – it will go a long way.
Try adding a bubblegum pink belt to cinch that faithful LBD, or grab an over-sized sapphire blue clutch to wear with a white summer dress, lending just enough spice to those neutral tones. And a pair of lemony yellow peep-toe pumps will add summery exuberance to your fitted jeans and comfortable tank top. If you’re nervous about embracing the vivid colors, you don’t need to be covered from head-to-toe in bright turquoise to work this trend. Just find an accessory you like in a striking shade, and you’ll be as hot as the summer heat.
Then again, if you feel like matching a hot pink floral wrap dress with a pair of verdant green heeled sandals, and a sunny yellow clutch – why not? Come November, you might wish you had taken the chance when you had it. With so many flirtatious colors to choose from, the possibilities are endless. Start these long summer days off right, by making getting dressed fun again.
