April 22, 2009: Because Compassion is a Sustainable Resource
Today is Earth Day – what are you going to do about it? We now all know that the planet is chock full of limited resources and that some are more sustainable than others. Each little thing we do has an impact. What kind of example are we setting for our kids and what kind of mess are they going to inherit?
It isn’t all doom and gloom though and there are some really bright spots. For starters, it was really hard to decide on a Delamina woman of the week this week. So many true Delamina women are making a difference and working on behalf of Mother Earth. Celebrities like Cameron Diaz and Gwyneth Paltrow who are creating an ‘Act Green’ web site focused on reducing our reliance on oil, Daryl Hannah who lives entirely off the grid and isn’t afraid to stick her neck out for what she believes in, Cate Blanchett who is working on a project to make the Sydney Theatre Company all green and eco-friendly, and Alanis Morissette who campaigns for what she believes in and lives green.
But this week we have to honor Jane Goodall who has lived her entire life selflessly and is devoted to improving the environment for all living things. She has a timeless grace and beauty and truly lives a life of example. Jane Goodall –you are all good. Please visit The Jane Goodall Institute to see what you can do.
Mothers and Daughters

More Green
Amy Gurvitz has written a new Bauble Babble appropriately called Green Day. “Not long ago, if someone called you a bike-riding, water-conserving, recycling-crazed tree hugger, they probably didn’t mean it as a compliment.” Read more…
Chrissy Bryant is all about green this week as well: “Going green is a phrase we are all familiar with now. We all love the planet, so more of us are now carrying our reusable grocery bags;” Read more…
“With eco-fashion, going green has never looked or felt so good. It’s time to get creative.” Read more…
