December 16, 2009: Because EXCUSE me, I’m gliding here
And glide she does. We’ve all watched Sandra Bullock entertain us with steady consistency over the past couple of decades. She has played all types of roles, she seems to have no limits, yet we always recognize ‘her’. And we like her. She’s funny and poignant, dramatic and refined, soft and strong. No fake boobs, no collagen lips - just her natural, girl next door self. She carries on as if she were not among the top ten highest paid actresses this year. She seems, well, normal.
She and husband Jesse James recently purchased a home in New Orleans where they are known as the ‘Easton Angels’. They’ve been big supporters of the Warren Easton Charter High School since Katrina caused severe damage. In addition to donations and active fundraising, they have funded the participation of 10 students in the Louisiana Youth Seminar – an annual leadership conference, and have established a college scholarship for the school.
It’s nice to see a big star who hasn’t let it go to her head. Keep it up Ms. Bullock, our Delamina woman of the week.
