An amazing thing happened last week, justice prevailed and a talented young woman was set free. Roxana Saberi has lived a life that has been referred to as a “testament to diversity and democracy”. Born in North Dakota to an Iranian father and a Japanese mother, a soccer and piano player, winner of the Scholar Award as a top ten finalist in the Miss America contest, a talented journalist with double masters degrees from Northwestern and Cambridge respectively, she is truly a remarkable woman.

Roxana was arrested, accused of espionage and sentenced to 8 years in Iranian prison in February. Public outcry and relentless hard work from supporters managed to get her released just 3 months later. Proof that you should never give up, and that you can make a difference. Keep searching for truth, Roxana. You are the Delamina woman of the week.
