October 21, 2009: Because Those Who Can’t Change Their Minds Can’t Change Anything

Maria Shriver was in the news for two separate reasons this past week.

maria-shriver1Once for being seen talking on her cell phone while driving which is against the law in California and for which she publicly apologized. I despise when people drive with their phone in one hand and their attention divided, but I personally forgive her and suspect she won’t be a repeat offender.

And again, for releasing a report exploring the transformation of our society. The Shriver Report, A Woman’s Nation, discusses the changes that took place over the course of the 20th century. It intelligently examines the real differences in our lives due to the fact that women are now the main breadwinners in the majority of American families, the fact that our support structures have not evolved as rapidly as women’s roles and the impact this has on our entire society.

A smart, strong mother of four, Maria Shriver is our Delamina woman of the week. …Oh, and can you guess which story got the most coverage in the press?
