THE DIRT

Steve Silver has been into jewelry for decades. He first became fascinated as a young boy - listening to his mother's jeweler. After obtaining a graduate degree in gemology, he worked in LA for the first 2 years of his career, grading and sorting diamonds. This tedious work taught Steve a strict discipline that would serve him well throughout his career, but he needed a more creative outlet. He began working for a jeweler who specialized in vintage and estate pieces. He fell in love with vintage jewelry, and in 1980, he established his own company specializing in custom and estate jewelry.

Through his network of worldwide contacts, Steve has acquired some of the rarest and finest stones in the world. Among the most interesting examples are an exquisite, one-of-a kind vivid orange diamond, a six-carat vivid blue diamond that is one the rarest and largest blue diamonds ever cut, and the second largest red diamond ever cut, nicknamed the 'cranberry'.

Steve has several designers on staff, each talented in their own right.
