Susan Foster was raised in East Hampton, NY and currently lives in the Los Angeles area. She has traveled throughout Europe and is influenced by different cultures, religion, art, mysticism, tradition and nature. She is inspired by beauty, in any form.

She studied art history at UCLA, studied gemstones at the Gemology Institute of America, and then apprenticed with European goldsmiths who taught her to honor the craft and strive for perfection.

Susan says her biggest fashion influences of the moment are Grace Kelly and C. Z. Guest. She loves working with gold, diamonds and rare gemstones.

Although Susan has a star stud fan base (including but not limited to Chloe Sevigny, Maria Shriver, Lisa Kudrow, Renee Zellweger, Joni Mitchell, Minnie Driver, Rita Wilson, Angela Bassett, Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow, Amber Tamblyn, Lucy Lui, Jessica Biel, Elizabeth Shue, Gretchen Mol, Ashlee Simpson, and Sandra Bullock), she is an Accidental Designer who fell into the jewelry business.

How would you categorize your jewelry designs in general?

Utterly feminine

Which celebrity do you most envision wearing your designs? And what would they be doing?

At the moment, Chloe Sevigny.

What type of jewelry do you like to wear?

I love wearing amazing vintage pieces, my own of course, and a few pieces by designer friends.

What is your idea of a dream vacation?

6 months of around the world.

What article of jewelry do you think most enhances a woman's body? Why?

A choker is typically flattering on a woman because it accentuates her neck and frames her face.

What aspect of your jewelry is most reflective of you?
